The GNM Archive

Preserving and sharing Guardian and Observer history

Our work
Our collections give researchers unique insights into the world of news. The archive is owned by the Guardian Foundation, allowing us to safeguard the records of Guardian News and Media for posterity and make them available to the public in pursuit of the Foundation’s charitable aims.

We hold original documents and objects stretching back over more than 200 years and are still collecting new records today. Our mission is to save and share the rich heritage of the Guardian and Observer, for the benefit of the wider community and future generations as well as the business itself.
