In this immersive journalism workshop, students experience the fast-paced world of media production, editorial decision-making, and digital storytelling.
Working in pairs as reporters and editors, students use a bespoke Guardian-developed web app to choose, research, and write their own breaking news stories. This four-hour intensive session challenges them to manage a live news landing page and meet authentic editorial deadlines.
By navigating real-world editorial dilemmas, students gain a deep understanding of how news is produced and how stories are structured for a digital audience. As well as writing skills, they'll work as a team and develop their critical media literacy skills.
