New WhatsApp chatbot launched to help adults spot disinformation

The Guardian Foundation has collaborated on the creation of a new WhatsApp chatbot designed to help people identify disinformation. In partnership with Maldita.es, CORRECTIV, and deCheckers, we drew on our educational expertise to develop content for a series of activities within the popular messaging service app.

Now, adults of all ages who speak German, Spanish, or Dutch can access short courses, fun quizzes and tips via WhatsApp on misinformation, critical thinking, fact-checking, and media literacy.

This work is in addition to the Foundation's existing news and media literacy work in schools, communities and in our education centre located in the Guardian's newsroom.
