The UK House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee has published a new report calling on the government to take "urgent action" on media literacy.
We’re proud to see our recommendations and evidence from our programmes cited throughout the report, recognising media literacy as an essential part of education in the 21st century.
The Committee’s recommendations include:
Embedding media literacy in the national curriculum from the early years
Updating teacher training and professional development
Raising public awareness and supporting adult learning
Backing local partners like libraries to deliver media literacy in communities
Appointing a senior minister to lead a collaborative effort
Demanding more from tech platforms, such as funding and support for media literacy initatives
