Programmes we support

We are proud to support the following projects and organisations

Refugee Journalism Project
This project was founded in 2016. Based at the London College of Communication, it supports displaced and migrant media professionals to build their careers in the UK. Many of these journalists arrive in the UK with an impressive range of skills – many have been editors, correspondents and producers in their own countries – but face significant barriers when attempting to continue their careers in the UK.

The Guardian Foundation supports this project through the delivery of training in specialist areas of journalism, delivered by highly experienced Guardian journalists.
European Press Prize
The Guardian Foundation is a founding partner of the European Press Prize which annually salutes and encourages the highest achievements in European journalism. Journalists from all 47 countries of Europe as defined by Council of Europe membership are eligible to enter their work across a range of categories. Entries open from October 1, every year. The entry deadline is mid-December, and winners are announced at a ceremony the following summer.

We continue to support the European Press Prize in memory of Peter Preston, who created the prize.
